Letter #1 - March 2, 2011

Dear Mom, Dad and Family,

Wow.  It's only been a day, and I already feel like I've done 2 days worth of work.  And I love it!

I'm still a little nervous about Spanish but I'm sure it will come in time!  I can already (sort of) say a prayer in Spanish.  And, as we learn new words, we're supposed to replace them as we speak, so soon we'll all be speaking some sort of Spanglish.

The spirit is already so strong, and I am so glad that I am here.

My companion is awesome.  Her name is Hermana Habel (Ashton Habel).  She, and everyone in my district is going to Argentina.  However, I am the only one going (sorry - only sister) going to Bahia Blanca.  2 of the Elders are also going.  Hermana Habel is going to Neuquen along with 2 of the Elders, and the other two Hermanas that we room with (I can't remember their names right now) and the last 2 Elders in our district are going to Buenos Aires North.

Our teachers names are Brother Goodman and Brother Harper. They both seem really cool. And patient which will be nice.

For dinner we had chicken cordon bleu and it was very good.  And, Wednesday is Ice Cream Night!  With creamery ice cream.  I had Peanut Butter Cup.  It was fantastic.

It's weird to think that you guys were only a mile away at the BYU game.  How did they do without Davies?

Anyways, I probably should go, it's almost lights out.

Zac, good luck with your play this weekend!  I know you guys will do awesome!  Tell McKenna I said good luck to her, too.

Holly, good luck with Dixon's Got Talent!  You and Sabrina are going to rock it!  How does it feel to be done with Millie?

Summer, when is the next stage of the science fair?  Oh, your poster is in the trunk of my car, don't forget.  I already gave Spencer his!

Never, ever, ever forget, the church is true!  When you have any questions or problems the first place you should go is on your knees, the the Lord.  He has all the answers.

I love you all.  You are in my prayers!

Love, love, love
Hermana Corinne Orton!

Thank you so much for the letters!  I will write back on Tuesday (my p-day)

I am doing so well!

I love you all sooooo much!
P.S. Thank you for the pictures!

March 1, 2011

Wow, it's now 10:41pm and I am exhausted. I can't believe that tomorrow I go into the Provo MTC. The whole thing is a little surreal. I just wanted to take a second and thank everyone who has supported me in my decision to go on a mission! I know without a doubt that I am supposed to be in Argentina serving the Lord and the wonderful people there. Thank you all for supporting me and for taking the time to read my letters! Hopefully they won't turn out to be too boring. And if any of you feel so inclined, please feel free to write. I promise I will do my best to respond to everyone! I love you all and I will see you in 18 months!!!
