February 27, 2012- Letter

Dear Mom and Dad,

 

First off, I think that it is great that you two are going to continue your tradition of going to watch basketball for your anniversary! You two really deserve the time to relax and have some alone time!

 

Second off. Wow. I am so glad that you are safe!! That is so scary! Let me know how car shopping goes, I am very interseted to know! I am glad that everyone is okay, and that you now have the opportunity to purchase a car that you will be able to use the AC in the summer. Wow. If you get a chance to send any pictures send them on down, I am so curious. But really really happy to know that you are all safe!

 

Third, yay Mom! Thank you so much for taking your medicine! That helps me to feel so much more secure down here in Argentina! And I am so so so so happy to hear that it was only bad for a couple of days and not every time that you took it. It will just keep getting better and better as you are constant with it. (I know that isn´t the right word, but the best one just isn´t coming to mind)

 

This week was really good. Its always a little up and down the first week with a companion. You are trying to see if you really are going to get along or if your only doing well because it is the first couple of days, and all that. But I love Hna Vawdrey. (That is so cool that you have talked to her mom, Mom. We were just talking about how we think that you two should meet. And that you are both blog stalkers and she has a blog and I have a blog and it´s just too perfect). We were able to find some new investigtors and they have baptismal dates! We feel really confidant about one of them. His name is Nicolas and he is the son of a lady who has just recently been baptized. We are hoping that we can help him feel really comfortable so that he can go to church with his mom (hi didn´t come yesterday).

 

We are also hoping to find a couple of other newbies this week, and we have some really good plans to do so.

 

First off- Summer, I can try to find one like the one I sent you, but I don´t remember what it looks like, so you´ll have to send me a picture if you want me to find one really like it, if not, I¨ll just look for another one!

 

Okay, the best part of the week was hands down Friday night. The YW did New Beginnings, and for it they had decided to do a Modesty Fashion Show. Their catigories were Casual Wear, Night Wear, Party Wear (like Prom dresses, etc) and Bridals. A lot of the girls ended up wearing their moms wedding dresses. It was really cool. They had asked Hna Vawdrey and I to sing, and so we were invited! We have been working with some of the girls, and they come from really hard back grounds. Many of them are either the only members or the only active members, and deal with alot of hard things at home. And the YW did everything for the night, the treats, the decorations, the center pieces, the souvenirs, everything.

 

And they did so well!! They all looked so gorgeous and everything went so flawlessly. At least as far as I could tell. Our cute little YW President was running around with her head cut off a little. The last picture is of Hna V and I totally soaked. It has been raining like crazy here. Which I am a big fan of! Yay Rain!

 

Also, mom. The people that you had asked about forever ago. Carmen Raventos is the RS president, and Elias Valente is our ward mission leader. You had asked about them so you could add them on facebook and talk to them. They are both so great. I love them!

 

Tell Carrie hi for me! I am in Puerto! And I have met Andrea Acosta! They served in the same zone for a while in the mission!
