Dear Mom and Dad,
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! 24 years! That is so great! The first two pictures are in honor of your anniversary! (Heads up, I think that this email is going to be a little scattered. I apologise in advance). We´re going to start with today. We went to Centro! To get shoes and some sightseeing! There is a calandar that they usually do out of flowers, but today it wasn´t, I¨m not sure why. But it has today´s date, which is your anniversary date! Yay! It is in Spanish, but it says March, 12, Monday 2012. Yay anniversary! I am happy that you two got married 24 years ago.
This week was pretty good. Hna Vawdrey and I are struggling a little bit with one of our leaders. It isn´t that he is a really bad one or anything, he´s just really new and still learning what it is he should and shouldn´t do. Especially with girls. So we are trying to be patient. In regards to that, we did ask Hno Valente for blessings on Wednesday. It was a really good experience. Elias Valente is potentially the best ward mission leader in the mission. Potentially the world. I am really lucky, and blessed to have the opportunity to work with a leader who so fully supports the missionaries.
Lets see. On Monday, after we came home from working, we ate the candy that we had on in the picture that I sent home. It turned out tongues pink. Hence the next couple of pictures. I am having a really good time with Hna Vawdrey. She helps bring me back down to earth, and realize that maybe if I´m not wonder woman, it´s okay. And that all the blessings that have been promised us will come, but that we need to make sure that we are enjoying ourselves along the way.
We did get some bad news about Tomas. He is our cute little 8 year old investigator. His parents don´t really want him to get baptized any time soon. They said that when he is old enough to really make a decision for himself then he can do what he wants, but for right now we can still go teach him a lesson every now and then (aka not as much as we want too) and then later he can make his decision. So that was a really big bummer.
We did find a new investigator named Yamila that has some real potential. We have been trying to find her for quite some time. So we were really happy to have her finally!! She accepted everything really well.
We had a couple of investigators at chruch, and that was really really really nice. It has been over a month since we have had investagors at church. We are going to work with them this week so that they can come again next Sunday, and have a baptisimal date!!!
There is some other bad news. The announced on Sunday that Marta Jimenez, my convert who got baptized on December 17th, passed away this last Thursday. I am doing well on the intelectual level where I am so glad and grateful that she has already been baptized, and that now we only need to make sure her other work gets done. But on the emotional level, I am really sad that someone I love so much has passed away. But i am doing well.
Today we went to Centro. I got some new shoes! That was really exciting. Igual, I won´t be wearing them for a couple of weeks still, as it is nice weather, and I can still wear my Jellies, but it is nice to have them and to know that were I to need them because of a drastic change in weather, I will have them. Noelia (one of our ward missionaries) went with Hna Vawdrey and I, and we had a really good time. Here are a couple of pictures from today! The last couple of ones are of the giant stone sea lions here. They are really famous, (dont´ask me why, the smell HORRIBLE) hence the face in the last picture.
Well, that is all the time I really have. Sorry it was so scattered, and devoid of detail. Just know that the Priesthood really is the power of God. And I am so grateful that it is on the earth today. I have great need of its blessings. From the Sacrament, to regular blessings, I am grateful that we have it.
I love you!!!
Corinne
