Dear Mom and Dad,
I have recieved four of your packages! The one that has the 12 days of Christmas, the ones that have the gifts for Hna Israelsen and I, and the envelope that has the carmels in them (heaven on earth by the way). You said that you sent 5 right? I wouldn´t worry too too much about it. From what I have heard, what happened with the Conference Candy package ( a dark day in history), is kind of a fluke thing. And there are alot of packages arriving right now, so I think it wil just be a matter of time. Speaking of that, your Christmas presents might be a little late. But the will be coming.
I have yet to eat fish in Mar Del Plata. Thank goodness. That being said I am sure that it is an experience that I will have. It is just a matter of waiting for that little bit of doom to arrive. I´m just hoping that it wont happen very many times.
We still haven´t found very many new investigators, which is a little sad, but the ones that we have are progressing quite nicely. Graciela and Carlos were attacked by the police, yes. I will be honest when I say that I don´t understand all of that myself. But they are doing much better, and we are hoping that they will find out the date of their wedding this week, and then we can also set the date of their baptism! They are so cute, they already have thier rigns and everthing, they are getting so excited! I don´t know why the government makes it so difficult here. I do know that alot of people just don´t want to get married since 1) it is such a hassel and 2) it is even a bigger hassel to get divorced, and people feel more secure if the can just up and leave when ever they want. Which to me is a bit of an oxymoron, but there you have it.
We are hoping to have Pedro´s baptism this week, but he is still smoking quite a bit, which worries me. I am not quite sure where his comprehension is, but it gets better and better every time. He just is still smoking that darn man!!!! I feel like he lacks a little bit of initiative, but we are going to see what we can do to help him to be prepared on Sunday for his baptism.
Marta is also progressing!!! And she is going to be baptized on December 23 so she can get the Holy Ghost on Christmas. Ahhh!!!! I am so excited for that. It has really been a great experince teaching her. Apparently for a year she has been rejecting a date and not wanted to put a time line on getting baptized, but in our first lesson with her, she just accepted everything, and it has been so wonderful to teach her! She really does have a special spirit. It has been really really cool to watch her grow and gain her own testimony. I certainly feel like I have been sent to this ward for her.
We are hoping to find some new investigators this week. We have a couple others that at this moment aren´t progressing, and we are hoping to change that this week!!! We have a couple references from the ward that we are going to contact this week, and we have high hopes for them.
I am so bummed that I am missing Holly´s dance concerts!!! These are her first ones in High School!! It is a good thing that I will be home next year so I can pretend that they are her first ones and that I am not missing them!!!!
Same thing with Summer´s Choir concerts! When I get home she will be in eighth grade!! How weird is that? I can´t believe it! Everyone is gettng so old! When did that happen?!
Dear Zac:
You should know I never said my computer was good for anything. You made that assumption on your own. And you know what Dad says about when we assume. :)
Love you!!
Corinne
Dear Summer,
I have no information about Hermana Salas´s sister. I haven´t heard from Hermana Salas since she went home. But when I hear from her I will ask her!!! Love you!!!
Corinne
Okay, about the whole Christmas thing. I think (and again think, I still dont´know for sure) that we will be able to use Skype. We are still trying to figure out the details, but the most important detail is what time you all would be avaliable. I pretty much have all day. We have been invited to a couple of members houses and whatnot, but everything (okay the timing really, the members are open to whatever) depends on when you are open. So if you could let me know mas o menos what time would be best for you all. Before church, after church, let me know, and I will see what I can do to make it happen. Isn´t it weird that in two weeks we will have already talked on the phone?
So far it doesn´t look like too much of a warm Christmas (and I have NO problem with that) the weather is still a little cloudy and gray. Again, no problems on my part, I love the rain! And I love that it is not lava boiling hot!!! I am more than okay with that!
Okay, pictures then I have to go. First, Hermana Israelsen and I with our first 12 days of Christmas! Which by the way was super exciting. I haven´t used real handsoap in who knows how long. And, I fully got the Black Raspberry Vanilla one! My favorite scent!!!! It was awesome!
After that, Franco (one of the ward missionaries), Hna Israelsen, and I went to Graciela´s house to decorate her Christmas tree with her. It was one of those cute little maybe 2 feet high ones. By the time we finished with it, you could no longer see the tree. She had three bags of decorations. Not little ones either. Big ones. Everytime she asked us to put more things on it, one of the three of us had to hide a laugh. We really thought that the poor thing was just going to fall over because it couldn´t support all the weight it was carrying. Franco is the missionary that is with us the most. He leaves on his mission in January, and man, we are going to miss him. He is with us almost everyday.
Well, I think that is basically it. It was a good week, and hopfully next week I will be able to report a baptism!!! I love you all and I am praying for you!!!
