January 2, 2012- Letter

Dear Mom and Dad,

Well that was weird. It sent with nothing written. Sorry about that. Hopefully it didn´t send more than once.

We did celebrate New Years! We had a chocolate party to end the year off on a bang and start our healthy goals. We ate a lot that night. But you will be proud to know, that I was able to eat more than anyone else, and the only one who didn´t suffer any ill affects from the night! Haha, we also all wore shirts that we got while we were in the MTC!

Argentina sets off a lot of fireworks for Christmas, and for New Years. ALOT of fireworks. They start at midnight. And for New Years they went off for about an hour and a half. And these aren´´t the little wimpy ones that we use for the 4th of July. These are the big giant ilegal ones that the use for the Stadium of Fire. Okay, so it wasn´t as good as the stadium of Fire, but it was still a lot of stuff going on. And loud! I was so excited when I could finally go to sleep.

Church was good. We did not have very many people there however. On normal days we start at nine thirty in the morning. I really enjoy morning church.

That is totally crazy that it is so warm there. It has been getting uncomfortably warm here. And it is humid. I would venture to say that sometimes I feel as if I am melting. I think I might die during the summer here. I miss the winter weather!!!! I so prefer extreme cold to extreme heat. Gear up folks, it is going to be a long summer.

Okay, in terms of other pictures, we decided that it was a very sad thing that there wasn´t any snow here, so one day, while we were cooking lunch, we deceded to make a snowman out of the excess frost in our freezer (there is a LOT of that). It was actually really fun. However in our hot, humid weather, the poor little guy didn´t have much of  a chance, and he meltedin about three minutes.
This week had a couple of adventures. The first one started last week actually. Remember when we were talking, and I told you how I hadn´t been feeling very well, and it kind of felt like I had strep? Well, the strepy feelings went away, but the feeling sick feelings did not. So finally, my District Leader called Hna Detlefsen (I would have done it myself, I was just going to wait another 24 hours to see if I got any better), and she gave him the number to a memeber here in Mar del who is a doctor. So on Thursday I went to go see him. And it turns out that I have bronchitis. Don´t worry. I am actually doing really well now. I have an anti biotic, and I will finish it tomorrow. I had to rest a couple of days in the house which was actually quite annoying, but I am doing much better now.

The other adventure was today! Today I complete 10 months in the mission! How crazy is that?! So to celebrate, we went to a park, took some pictures and got churros! It was great! We had a really good time, and then we came back and just sat at the table, silent and exhasuted.

This week was really hard to find people, and to teach, so we are hoping for a lot of improvements this week. The good news is after a hard week, it is really easy to improve!  I am glad that you are all doing well,

I love you!!!
Corinne

Oh thats right. The last picture is me looking sad at my hand. This is why. I got two second degree burns on my hand this morning. I accidently touched something on the stove when I didn´t realize that the stove was turned on.´Don´t worry. They hardly hurt anymore, and I can type with them. The good news is that they are on my left hand, so I don´t use them very much. The bad news is I have already gotten some big reactions from members that we saw today, and I am not excited to explain this a million more times.
