October 3, 2011- Letter

Dear Mom and Dad,

Okay, here it goes. I don´t have a whole ton of time, and I am going to type as fast as possible (difficult with these darn Spanish keyboards).

First let me say I that I did NOT understand very well when they announced that there was going to be another temple in Provo. I watched all the sessions in Spanish, and I was very confused! I asked the Hna Salas, and she said that a temple burned down in Provo last year, and that they were going to rebuild it, so I knew that I was going to have to ask agian. And it turns out I understood more that I thought. Haha. I was confused because this is the first time that has ever happned. HOW COOL!!! Now everyone needs to start praying for the work to move forward here, specificlly in Bahia Blance Argentina, so the next temple that they announce can be the temple here!!!!!

This week went very well! Things are starting to turn around here. We have a lot to do, since we are pretty sure that we are going to open another area here, and have four hermanas with the next transfer (*answer to one of your questions Mom, transfers are October 15, you´ll know what happened on your birthday, 2 days later). So we are trying to arreglar the house, and find more beds, pillows, and all that stuff.

On top of that (if everything goes as planned) Miguel will have his baptism this weekend, Rodri and Maxi, next weekend, and Diana the next weekend! All of it great, all of it busy! But always better to have things busy than slow! I never liked to be bored! Hna Salas and I are doing great! She has been so awesome! We are doing well. In regards to what you said about not worrying about telling you when I am having a hard time. Honstly the last two weeks have been rough. I have had some serious boughts of Homesickness. The first real experience with this I´ve had on my mission. I am doing much better now.

Conference was GREAT! I watched in Spanish, and I admit, I didn´t understand as much as I was hoping. That being said, my Spanish is improving by leaps and bounds, and I understood alot, so don´t think that I didn´t understand anything. I particularly loved Hna Daltons talk, and President Monsons very brief talk about temples. We had some issuses with internet connections, so I didn´t get a chance to hear every, every thing, but I still got a good couple pages of notes.

It was really weird to think that you all were watching conference the same time that I was watching conference. Seriously weird. It was a nother homesick moment. And to see all the people that I know by voice, and to not hear their voices. But it good for me to realize how much of a blessing that it really is to know the prophets of our day by voice, hardly anyone here knows what President Monson sounds like when he talks. How sad! It was also sad to know that I was missing out on conference candy. Haha

I also really loved Elder Oaks talk, and Elder from the 70 whose name I can´t remember right now who talked about missionaries in Japan, and the things we can bring to the mission.

We had a couple of investigators in the church for General Conference, and it was really cool to knowt hat they were feeling the sprirt, and that they now have the chance to know that we have a living prophet today.

As always conference was completely wonderful. It is just the lift that I needed. I am so grateful for the opportunity that we have every six months to listen to prophets and leaders who know exactly it is what we need! THat is the miracle of conference, every member in the world can have a private problem or question, and every member can recive an answer completely specific. Where else can that happen? This church must be true! And God loves us!

Mom, every time they panned away from the choir, I remembered you and your "beef" with that. That they always hold out the last note forever and pan away with the camera. It was really funny to think that and to know that you were probably saying something about that at home.

We´ve had some struggles in reagards to support from the branch. We are hoping that will get better soon.

In regards to the pictures. Yes, we bought another kilo of ice cream. I don´t know why we thought we could eat it all. We couldn´t.
We also made french fries. Hna Salas only has two weeks left, so we are doing whatever she wants on Pdays. If next week is like this week, I am going to gain so much weight on my mission. I am happy to report, that before today, I was maintaning my weight, and I even lost a little. So much for that.

Okay, I have to go. Next weeks letter will be more detailed, a better missionary letter, about our investigators, the branch, etc. Haha. Opps....

LOVE YOU!!!

Corinne
